Mission Statement

The mission of the Mt. Zion Youth Sports Organization (MTZYSO) is to provide year-round youth sports opportunities to school-aged children who live and/or attend schools in the Mt. Zion Community Unit School District #3. Through sports activities & leagues, we strive to help young athletes develop positive character values that will help them succeed throughout their lives. MTZYSO will educate, equip, and empower youth sports athletes, as well as volunteers, with the resources needed for young local athletes to fully enjoy the benefits of playing multiple sports. Furthermore, the organization will coordinate with the coaches from Mt. Zion Junior High & High School, to develop programs for our young athletes that will ultimately prepare them for successful sports participation in programs at this level. Finally, MTZYSO will also provide opportunity for fundraising with the intent to maintain and enhance facilities used for the multiple sports that fall under the organization’s umbrella.
